Synopsis
哥哥在2013年過世。爸媽至今仍對哥哥死後去了哪裡，有各自的見解。於是我拜訪了亡靈溝通師、宮廟乩士等各路專業人士，希望他們能為「哥哥死後去了哪裡」這道難題，提供一些可靠的線索。
同一年年底，有位小阿姨的朋友 Lydia 自稱能與哥哥聯繫溝通。她轉述：「你大兒子告訴我，他想持續深造佛法、精進能力，他想搬去環境更好的元亨寺……」為了不讓孩子輸在起跑點，媽媽想方設法要把哥哥的骨灰遷到元亨寺。但理性派的爸爸不同意，他覺得遷骨灰的理由很荒謬，無法接受。歷經一番波折，哥哥的骨灰終於順利遷到元亨寺，但爸媽從此陷入冷戰，我們家的關係也降至冰點。
經過十多年才得知原來當時有這麼一件「骨灰搬家事件」，我開始思考，與其大家各執一詞，不如我去詢問專業人士的看法？於是，我拜訪了修習過能量風水課程的陳小姐、提供「與往生者占卜溝通」服務的郭老師、太子爺的乩身林大哥等人，希望能拼湊出一些可能的答案。
My brother passed away in 2013. Since then, my parents have held opposing beliefs about where he went after death. In search of answers, I turn to spiritual professionals, hoping they might offer real clues to the question: Where’d My Brother Go?
By the end of that same year, a friend of my aunt named Lydia claimed she could communicate with my brother. She said, “Your eldest son told me he wants to continue studying Buddhism and improve his spiritual abilities. He wants to move to Yuanheng Temple, where the environment is better…” Determined not to let her child fall behind even after death, my mother tried every possible way to move my brother’s ashes to Yuanheng Temple. My rational father strongly disagreed, finding the reason absurd and unacceptable. After many twists and turns, my brother’s ashes were finally moved, but my parents fell into a long cold war, and our family relationship froze.
More than ten years later, after learning about this “ashes relocation incident,” I began to wonder: instead of letting everyone hold on to their own version of the truth, what if I asked professionals? I visited Ms. Chen, who had studied energy flow and feng shui; Ms. Kuo, who offers divination-based communication with the dead; Mr. Lin, a spirit medium who channels Prince Nezha; and others with equally unconventional insights. Through them, I began piecing together possible answers to one question: Where’d my brother go?

Director’s Words
討論生死議題本來是一件有趣的事。但哥哥過世之後，話題倏然變得具體，討論的空間沒了。
這很像我們一群國中生，每天熱烈討論大學生活將有多迷幻、多值得期待，結果某天早自習，老師宣布，我們之中最愛聊大學生活的那個，已經被家人送去歐洲跳級唸大學，不會再回來。
簡化這十幾年家人對生死的態度：媽媽雙手擁抱「孩子還有事情需要父母幫忙」的說法，爸爸則雙手狠狠推開，而我這十幾年比較像是雙手插口袋，假裝沒自己的事。
我常常在想，如果早個十年拍《哥哥死後去了哪裡》，那我可能就不用拍《哥哥死後去了哪裡》了。
Talking about life and death used to be fun, until my brother passed away, and the topic suddenly became real.
It was like a group of middle schoolers excitedly imagining how amazing college would be, until one morning in homeroom, the teacher announced that the one who talked about college the most had been sent to Europe for early admission and would not be coming back.
To put my family’s attitudes toward life and death over the past decade simply: Mom embraced the idea that “our son still needs our help,” Dad rejected it with both hands, and I kept mine in my pockets, pretending it wasn’t my business.
I often think that if I had made Where’d My Brother Go? ten years earlier, maybe I wouldn’t have needed to make it at all.
導演簡歷
Biography
陳俊維，台灣高雄人，導演、攝影、剪輯。曾任紀錄片副導演、攝影與剪輯，參與作品包括《我的兒子是死刑犯》、《教練》、《奧運傳奇：楊傳廣與強森》、《我的爸爸是死刑犯》等。2022至2023球季，他曾擔任新北國王籃球隊的隨隊拍攝人員。2025年，他以紀錄短片《哥哥死後去了哪裡》入圍第62屆金馬獎最佳紀錄短片，並獲第48屆金穗獎評審團特別獎。
Chen Jun-Wei is a filmmaker, cinematographer, and editor from Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He has worked on documentaries including Me and My Condemned Son, At Your Service, Decathlon: The Story of CK Yang & Rafer Johnson, and Me and My Condemned Father. In 2022–23, he filmed and edited All Access content for the New Taipei Kings. In 2025, his documentary short Where’d My Brother Go? was nominated for Best Documentary Short Film at the 62nd Golden Horse Awards and received the Special Jury Award at the 48th Golden Harvest Awards.
